These exceptional educators inspire students and colleagues alike and were recognized by Acting Superintendent Jeanne Venecia, school board members, district directors and campus principals at the annual Teacher of the Year Banquet held last week.
The Elementary Teacher of the Year and Secondary Teacher of the Year were also announced during the banquet and will now represent Mercedes ISD at the regional level. Congratulations to Elda Torres from Zachary Taylor Elementary School and Adriana Gonzalez from Mercedes High School!

Mercedes student musicians, along with their dedicated teachers, recently joined flute players from across the region for the first rehearsal of the National Flute Association RGV Fiesta Flute Choir. š¶š
These flautists have secured a spot for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform with a choir of this size at the 2024 National Flute Association Convention in San Antonio this August.
